individual therapy
inclusive, experiential therapy for adults
I work with people who look like they’re holding it together—but actually feel like they’re falling apart. Or maybe are falling apart. Maybe your past still sneaks up on you in ways that you can’t ignore, or the future you planned is no longer possible. Maybe you feel like a stranger to yourself, and the life that you built no longer fits you.
One-on-one therapy sessions create a spacious environment where you can begin to cultivate deeper understanding, self-compassion, and courage. You will also learn tools and strategies to help you uncover your own innate capacity for wellbeing. I strive to co-create an environment where a healing experience becomes possible. This means that from a place of safety, vulnerability, and presence, you get to feel something new: a kinder interaction, a feeling of relaxation in your body, speaking a hidden truth, or being seen without judgement. Individual therapy sessions give you the opportunity to integrate these insights and experiences into the rest of your life so that you can make the changes you have been seeking. I work with adults and adolescents on issues such as:
life transitions (ex. emerging adulthood, retirement, postpartum, menopause, divorce, career change, gender identity)
anxiety (ex. racing thoughts, worry, sleep trouble, avoiding things, overanalyzing, perfectionism)
relationship issues (communication, balancing independence and connection, sexual issues, barriers to connection)
trauma (ex. difficult childhood, discrimination, accidents, assault, feeling like you can’t escape your past, knee-jerk reactions that cause problems)
immigration/acculturation/assimilation (ex. adjusting to a new culture, family stress, language barriers)
grief (ex. death, divorce, loss of future plans and expectations, big painful changes)
spiritual/existential crisis (ex. sense of meaning and purpose, death anxiety, existential dread)
